DCF870: https://amzn.to/4oC1iAf Lifetime of weekly updated rankings: https://torquetestchannel.etsy.com/listing/1152216140/torque-test-channel-spreadsheet-leader We bought Milwaukee's new 2761 to see if their Gen 2 SURGE Hydraulic impact driver is any good, compared to their Gen 1 SURGE, compared to DeWALT's DCF870 and even Walmart's new Hyper Tough Hydraulic which came as a bit of a surprise. Torque means not a whole lot on these tools, so we try to show more than just that, but best to look around on the innerweb for mixture of opinions and experience before pulling the trigger on one of theses yourself. DeWALT
Hydraulic Impact Driver
$199.00
Best Overall - Top performer with 117-120 ft-lbs torque, 92.6 dB sound level. Can nearly replace traditional impact drivers while being much quieter. However, impacts on everything from moment one with less fine control for delicate work.
Hyper Tough
Brushless Hydraulic Impact Driver
$65.00
Best Value - 55-59 ft-lbs torque, 92.3 dB sound level, 561 inch-pounds rated. Performance equal or better than original Milwaukee Surge for one-third the price. Has quirks including wobbly collet and sometimes reverses screws while driving forward.
Milwaukee
M18 FUEL SURGE Hydraulic Impact Driver Gen 2
$199.00
77 ft-lbs max torque, 92.7 dB sound level, 6,300 impacts per minute. 35-40% increase over Gen 1. Excellent for fine work with good trigger control and resolution. Shortest M18 impact at 4.3 inches. Best as addition to regular impact driver, not replacement.
Milwaukee
M18 FUEL SURGE Hydraulic Impact Driver Gen 1
Original model with lower torque performance. 5 inches long vs 4.3 for Gen 2. Outperformed by new Gen 2 by 35-40% in forward direction. Legacy product used for comparison.
