Best Overall - Best overall fuel stabilizer. Did amazing job preventing corrosion with rating of 1, kept fuel slightly flammable after 20 months, generator started in 2.5 seconds without starting fluid, spark plug looked almost new. Made of 95% hydrotreated light petroleum distillates and 5% isopropylated phenol. $6 for 8 ounces.

Best Overall - First place after 1 year UV exposure. Held up best due to protective coating. Process took 21 minutes but provided lasting results. Came with drying towels, purifying compound, surface activator, UV block clear coat, and sandpaper. Won both original review and 1-year follow-up.

Second place after 1 year UV exposure, still looked pretty good. Ceramic clear coat provided good protection. Kit included 8 oxidation remover wipes, surface prep pad, sandpaper, ceramic clear coat wipes, application gloves. Process took 15 minutes. Could benefit from restoration but much easier.

Tied for second in generator test with rating of 3. Started generator in 2.5 seconds without starting fluid, spark plug looked clean. Poor corrosion protection - caused nasty corrosion and pitting damage to metal. Contains 100% hydro light petroleum distillates. Treats 48 gallons, less than 10 cents per gallon.

Third place in generator test with rating of 3.5. Needed starting fluid but ran well after, spark plug looked clean. Second best corrosion protection with rating of 2, small amount of corrosion on metal. Contains ethylene glycol and alcohol-based ingredients. $12 for 8 ounces, treats 16 gallons (75 cents per gallon).

Third place after 1 year UV exposure. Did fantastic job removing oxidation with sandpaper but no protective coating included so headlight needed restoration again. Required drill to use. Came with assortment of sandpaper, disc pad holder, rubbing compound. Process took 10 minutes.
Armor All
Headlight Restoration Kit
Fourth place after 1 year UV exposure. Restoration wipes weren't able to remove oxidized material from badly damaged headlights. Top coat worn away after a year. Came with oxidation removal wipes and UV sealant protection. Did not provide lasting repair.
Yamalube

Fuel looked very dark like used motor oil after storage. Needed starting fluid to start generator but ran without additional help. Some corrosion on metal but not as much as untreated fuel. 99.9% petroleum distillate. $20 for 32 ounces.

Fifth place after 1 year UV exposure, looks ready to be restored again. Was least expensive brand originally. Green polishing pad used up before oxidation removed. Process took 11 minutes. Kit included precision wipe, polishing pad, nitro gloves, microfiber towel.

Does not claim to be fuel stabilizer. Generator struggled to start, needed starting fluid, produced mystery smoke. Significant carbon buildup on spark plug. Plenty of corrosion on metal but looked better than Seafoam. Contains hydrotreated petroleum distillates, phosphoric acid, dichlorobenzenes. $14 for 32 ounces.
Sea Foam
Motor Treatment
Required 21 shots of starting fluid to keep generator running, most of any product tested. Tremendous amount of corrosion on metal, quite a bit of carbon on spark plug. Contains petroleum distillates, hydrocarbon solvent, and alcohol. Great product for certain applications but poor fuel stabilizer.
Rain-X
Headlight Restoration Kit
Sixth place after 1 year UV exposure. Hard to tell which side was restored. Protective coating did not last. Process took 9 minutes. Kit included drill attachment, sanding disc, premium polishing pad, premium buffing polish, premium wipes for sealing.
Generic
40:1 Gas and Two-Stroke Oil Premix
Two-stroke oil did not prevent corrosion, quite a bit of metal damage. Generator struggled badly, needed starting fluid, produced large puff of two-stroke smoke, ran rough and almost stalled. Heavy carbon buildup on spark plug as anticipated. Not effective as fuel stabilizer.
Meguiar's
Headlight Restoration Kit
Seventh place after 1 year UV exposure. Hard to tell which side was restored. Did not include strong enough abrasive or cleaning solution to remove oxidation. Kit included cleaning pads, cleaning solution, headlight coating. Applied two coats but results poor.
